The boyfriend

What constitutes a book? My college english teachers face was screwed up into a snooty expression when I challenged her views on whether a graphic novel, or comic was readable literature. She wanted to put me down and tell me it wasn't, and that I was just phobic of reading real books. Well, I disagree! No one will make me believe otherwise!

  10. I'd definately consider graphic novels legitimate literature.

  11. I find most graphic novels to be a better read than non-graphic novels. I've read a lot of crap before. I can't even recall the number of bad books I've read, they were that bad. Ok, maybe I'm just forgetful too. But graphic novels are excellent.

  13. I don't see anything wrong with calling comic books literature, sure they put less effort in their prose, but that effort is then being put into the artwork. They don't need to take time to explain environments because they're literally drawn out.
